A Goetic Experiment of Bleth

Post in English / Post en Anglais

Here is a lil' part of a very good book, I suggest all serious students & practitionerz should buy and read !

From 'The Cambridge Book of Magic, a Tudor necromancer's manual'; by Paul Foreman (attrib.) Introduction, translation and notes © Francis Young 2015.

(I have to finish to 'devour' my previous book acquisition (The Book of Oberon: A Sourcebook of Elizabethan Magic § by Daniel Harms, Joseph H. Peterson, James R. Clark) but we can found many, many, many Christian elements in both books. Haaaa, the sweet 16th Century charms.)

The spirit Bleth.

The  covering from this urinal (Below)

At dawn before sunrise, take a urinal half full of water and hold it in your left hand, and have a cover on which there is the afore said circle, and beware lest you make any hole in it and hold it secretly, and say as is made plain in the following:

'O king or duke: Agla: Jesus Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands. Glogas and Gelopas, Dagariell you defend on high: Agur: Agla: Amera: Concatrim: the Sicilian plagues: Agur: Agla Sicololum: the flesh of Elomolas Polupin: Sibilla: Lutratem: Zelulus, and the fox. The scion of Malaga: Alpha: one: fox:

transcar[um] tatus Jacet, vitus: lorentes: (transcarum latus lies, vitues, flowering).

I conjure you, Bleth, by the almighty God, by the most holy and strongest God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, three persons and one God; all by all vitues and powers of God, and by St Mary; and by all male and female saints of God; and by all their vitues; by all the holy names of God, that you, Bleth, should  appear before me in a beautiul form and say the truth to me concening every question, without sophistry and lies'.

And having spoken in this way tree or four times, look until you can see smoke enter and the water moving.  Then out the cover on the urinal, and tie it with a strip of linen and you can guard it for three days. And when you want to draw it back, say three times as follows. But if it has grown so large that it cannot come out, put the urinal in a hole made in the ground, and say this licence once or twice and smash the urinal .

'Go, Bleth, there as God hath ordained thee to be; and that you bereay at all times when I will have you.  And peace be between you and us and all creatures, in the name of God, that you go in peace I charge you in  heaven and earth and in hell: in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen. Let it be so'.
